I just want to make something that I love and people will respect.

I like dark, dramatic roles; they're just really powerful and real.

I want to do things that will change someone's life, not something they'll forget about tomorrow.

I was thinking of going to London drama schools or to New York, because France didn't accommodate the things I wanted to do in film.

Most detective story readers are an educated audience and know there are only a certain number of plots. The interest lies in what the writer does with them.

As a writer, I try to do different things, but I'm not going to become a darker artist or turn into Radiohead overnight. I don't think that's my style.
