I don't like James Bond. They made him a super hero, but he is just an agent, a human being. In my movies, secret agents are more realistic, I didn't want to portray them in the most glowing colours.

Most detective story readers are an educated audience and know there are only a certain number of plots. The interest lies in what the writer does with them.

What I find is most people have a civics book understanding for how Congress works and how a bill moves.
